The Candela laser is safer than traditional therapies for cosmetic spot removal because of its ability to treat the pigmented lesion without harming surrounding tissues. The effectiveness of the treatment depends on age, location, depth and type of lesion.

Treatment with the Candela laser varies from patient to patient. In general, patients report little to no pain, comparable to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Your physician may elect to use a mild topical anesthetic for patients who report discomfort.

Areas previously treated with unsuccessful treatments can also benefit from being treated with AlexTriVantage. If you have been disappointed by other treatments in the past that haven't worked, Candela laser may be the choice for you. It is generally more effective than prior technologies, and responds well to skin not heavily scarred due to past treatments.

The Candela laser greatly reduces the possibility of scarring or changes in skin texture. Overall side effects are mild to moderate and include, redness, discoloration, lightening, or darkening of the treated areas. Mild side effects should disappear in a few days, and slight lightening or darkening of the skin, although rare, typically disappears after several months.
